Flowdrill: Market leader in Friction drilling

At Flowdrill, we’re changing the way tubes and profiles are connected.

As a specialist in friction drilling, we’re known for our innovative, reliable and sustainable solutions.

With over 5,000 customers in more than 50 countries, we help businesses worldwide create stronger and more efficient connections. Every year, our technology enables the creation of more than 500 million connections.

Each year, more than 500 million connections are made using our friction drills.

Our Origins: A Vision that began in 1923

The idea behind friction drilling first emerged in 1923 in southern France.

Jan Claude de Valliere discovered that friction and heat could be used to create holes in thin-walled materials. However, due to the technological limitations of the time, practical application was not possible yet.

Nearly 60 years later, with new materials, precision tools and advanced machines, the friction drill was developed as we know it today. Under new leadership, this evolved into a technique that made metal connections stronger, more durable and more cost-effective.

This became the foundation of our mission: improving metalworking and setting new standards in mechanical joining.
